Clearswift appoints new CEO

Heath Davies unveiled as Richard Turner's successor

Web and email security vendor Clearswift has appointed Heath Davies as its new chief executive.

The firm bade farewell to its former chief executive Richard Turner in July, who left to "pursue other interests".

Davies, who will start in his new role next week, joins the firm following a 10-month stint at Alterian, which he sold at the start of the year. He previously spent nine years at software and services firm Sword Group.

The new chief executive is credited with growing Sword's revenue from £25m to more than £150m and Martin Leuw, Clearswift's chairman, said Davies' track record in growth fits with Clearswift's future plans.

"He has a proven track record of profitable growth, mergers and acquisitions in the software and services sector internationally, with a particular focus on compliance, data and analytics," he added.

"This fits extremely well with Clearswift's product and acquisition strategy moving forward. Clearswift is set to enter a new era and we have big ambitions for the company; we know that Heath is the right person to lead Clearswift on that journey."

On his new appointment, Davies added: "Clearswift understands the importance of information governance, and that enterprises need a security solution that enables them to collaborate with partners, engage with customers and utilise the appropriate channels to do this."
