Daisy takes time out with Time Out

Comms specialist claims deal will help global media company make savings on its network service and annual maintenance

Unified communications specialist Daisy Group has won a deal to upgrade the office telephony and network services of media outfit Time Out.

Phase one of the project is due to complete before Christmas, and will see Daisy update the firm’s legacy systems, using an IP-based Mitel system for 200 staff members at its London HQ.

Phase two will involve Time Out introducing its New York office to an IP-based system which will then allow the two locations to be potentially linked with an MPLS mechanism to enhance its transatlantic communications. Daisy will also become the new provider of Time Out UK non-geographic numbers (NGNs).

Will Kennedy, corporate sales director at Daisy Group, said: “We are delighted to have been chosen by a company which is not just a success in the UK but worldwide. The prospect of installing the system to facilitate the business’ global network is especially exciting, as we continue to expand our customer base.”

Simon Chappell, group IT director at Time Out, added: “The business requirement for a scalable telephony and communications solution is paramount to the continued successful expansion of Time Out.

“The combination of Daisy and Mitel’s flexible approach and global reach complements our own global strategy, ensures enhanced communications between offices and maximises the mobility of our employees.”
