Ingram begins its Spla rollout

Distributor on lookout for VARs building a hosting business to take part in the programme which was "months in the planning"

Ingram Micro is on the hunt to sign up resellers following its launch of Microsoft's service provider licence agreements (Spla) after it won the distribution rights last month.

The distributor, which, alongside Westcoast, fought off competition from Avnet and Computer 2000 to win the Spla tender, aims to assist resellers building a new hosting business.

Starting in November, Ingram will begin its programme of partner events at which resellers can discuss their Spla requirements, and has also compiled a dedicated Spla team which it claims is ready and waiting to support enquiries and registration.

"The UK team has been working hard to get the business to a state of readiness as to ensure our partners receive the best possible experience through Ingram Micro," said the distributor's managing director Matt Sanderson.

"I am truly excited about the new era we are embarking on with Microsoft and our partners that truly explodes the notion of value services within the channel."

Clare Barclay, director of SMB at Microsoft UK, said: "We believe the addition of Ingram Micro into the Spla channel will drive new business and support VARs wanting to offer highly personalised cloud solutions to their customers."
