Comet site crashes as administration looms
Retailer stresses business as usual as it heads into administration next week
Beleagured Comet's website crashed as customers and suppliers went into panic mode over the firm's impending administration.
The 240-store firm saw its website fall over yesterday and today, as suppliers comandeered stock and customers rushed to spend vouchers before they became void.
According to one article, the firm is insisting it is 'business as usual until further notice'.
As reported widely yesterday the Comet confirmed it would be placed into administration next week, with owner OpCapita lining up restructuring specialist Deloitte to act as administrator.
Speculation has surrounded Comet in recent weeks as rumours circulated last month that OpCapita, which bought the retailer for just £2 last year, was touting the business for sale.
But Twitter has gone into overdrive as the story develops, with 6,500 retail jobs hanging in the balance.
