Ai Virtualisation unveils latest ally
Virtualisation distributor inks deal with Swedish vendor Halon Security
Distributor Ai Virtualisation has added email security and firewall specialist Halon Security to its vendor stable.
Founded in 2006, Ai Virtualisation specialises in virtualisation management, security and optimisation solutions, working with about 50 to 60 resellers.
Co-founder Sanjay Patel said Sweden-based Halon fits with its vision of helping its partners boost the efficiency of datacentres.
"Resellers are being asked to reduce costs in the datacentre and the only way they can do this is by increasing efficiencies," he said. "What we liked about Halon is they have a plug-and-play architecture that eradicates the need for point-based [email security and firewall] products."
Ai works with six other vendors, including security software firm Winfrasoft and VDI specialist Nimdesk, for which it recently became a pan-European distributor. It has signed up BT Engage IT to carry another of its vendors: systems management outfit ToutVirtual.
"We see 2013 as being the year people really try to reduce complexity in the datacentre, which will enable them to roll out projects such as VDI and BYOD," said Patel.
