Telepresence out-of-the-box deal for AVM

Audiovisual specialist adds 'tool-less' videoconferencing

Distributor Audio Visual Material (AVM) has signed up to offer videoconferencing kit from Ashton Bentley in an exclusive deal.

Mark Nisbet, managing director of AVM, claimed the kit is unlike anything else currently on the market.

"They are very easy to use," he said.

The systems can be used instead of room-based installations. Each is supplied pre-assembled with audiovisual and control equipment, furniture, cabling and hardware. The customer must add a codec and the camera, and connect it via the supplied colour-coded wiring harness.

"It all adds up to simple deployment, operation, support and management that can dramatically reduce cost," Nisbet said.

Ongoing support is done with an included set of TCP/IP tools that enable fault monitoring and remote control.

Tony Leedham, business development director at Ashton Bentley, said the company developed its offering in response to the complicated telepresence systems available on the market.

"We set out to design a system delivering exceptional performance, expandability and a semi-automated operation," he said.
