Tache takes a break for Movember after 34 years
"But don't worry - I'll be back," confirms Derek Jones' facial fur
After 34 years of providing its wearer with the distinctive and debonair look so recognisable across the industry today, the moustache of Synaxon managing director Derek Jones has gone on a well-earned break in aid of Movember.
Jones and his companion of the past three decade agreed to the break after the Synaxon dealer group decided to support the Movember charity fundraiser.
Of course, for Movember, most people have to actually embark on growing a 'tache.
"However, my 'Tache – as he is known – has been a loyal servant for almost longer than I can remember," said Jones. "It was a straight choice – so there was no contest at all there.
"He deserves some time off, although I'm not really sure how we are going to manage without him. I almost feel like he's a part of me."
Anyone wishing to make a donation to Movember in support of Derek Jones and his currently-absent 'tache should visit http://mobro.co/derekjjones.
Tache (pictured, above) was reported as saying that it and Jones had been through a lot together from when they first met as young army recruits.
"While it is great to be taking a rest, I will miss the old devil. But don't worry, I'll be back – probably in the New Year," the 'tache confirmed. "In the meantime, I hope many of my fans will be encouraged to make a generous donation to Movember. Health issues for men are health issues for 'taches too."
The 'tache also said there was absolutely no truth in the rumours the split would be long-term, involving the formation of a dedicated dealer group for moustaches and other semi-permanent types of facial hair.
