JMC IT flies higher with Concorde showcase

Manchester Airport hosts 200 guests of the distributor

Salford IT support and services provider JMC IT has welcomed some 200 prospects, partners and customers to an event held underneath the Concorde aircraft display at Manchester Airport.

The showcase, held last week at the airport's runway visitor area, hosted practical presentations, seminars on trends and issues, and new product events.

According to Andrew Burgess, managing director of JMC IT, the idea was to promote a "new era of work" – the so-called flexible working trend – to customers.

"Never before have we had such technology at our fingertips. It's about educating businesses to think differently about their strategies, and by doing so improve mobility, flexibility of access to technology, business resilience, reduce costs and enhance profitability," Burgess said.

Presentations were made by a range of JMC partners including Microsoft, Dell, Citrix, Armstrong Communications and Metronet. Subject areas included virtualisation, resilience and cloud.

Attendees were given marketing material as well as breakfast, lunch and a tour of the Concorde G-BOAC, purchased by British Airways in 1976 as the flagship of its supersonic fleet, and decommissioned in 2003.
