Tech Data hands Chimoindes European cloud role

Distributor makes plans for uniting its cloud offering with that of SDG

Tech Data is pressing on with its cloud offensive after creating a new pan-European cloud role for UK executive Joel Chimoindes.

In his previous role as Azlan Solution Evangelist director, Chimoindes bossed the distributor's TDCloud and new technologies businesses in the UK, but is now moving up to head Cloud Services for Europe.

C2000 marketing director Andy Dow said part of Chimoindes' role will be to bring together Tech Data's SaaS offerings with those of recent acquisition SDG.

"This gives Joel much broader scope across Europe and he will be very strategic to the launch of new SaaS services coming down the line," Dow said.

Chimoindes' shoes will be filled approximately by Jonathan Kaiser, who has been promoted to the role of solutions director at Azlan in the UK. Kaiser was previously a solutions architect in Azlan's HP ESSN team.

Launched last November, TDCloud is designed to provide resellers with access to cloud-enabling solutions from vendors including Cisco, HP, IBM, Microsoft, Symantec and VMware.
