Computerlinks goes mobile with Globo

Security distie broadens networking credentials with mobility vendor signing

Computerlinks has signed a UK and Ireland distribution deal with mobility platform vendor Globo.

The Suffolk-based distie will be taking on the vendor's GO!Enterprise product. The technology will slot into the distributor's burgeoning mobility portfolio, which includes vendors such as Aerohive, Ericom and M@D.

Dave Ellis, director of new technology and services at Computerlinks, told ChannelWeb that Globo's technology is ideally placed to capitalise on the BYOD and enterprise mobility trends.

"This is wider than MDM [mobile device management]." he explained. "The Globo technology allows you to deliver enterprise applications to mobile devices. If you are using a BlackBerry with a 3in display, it can be a problem to use a full ERP or CRM application. But GO!Enteprise has a development studio where you can take your enterprise applications and deliver all the elements that are important to the user onto a small screen."

Globo chief executive Costis Papadimitrakopoulos claimed the signing was a big step in his firm's continental expansion plans.

"We are delighted to have established a partnership with Computerlinks which will enable GO!Enterprise to gain traction in fast-growing and highly competitive markets," he said. "This is our first major move in the UK and Ireland, which are key markets for Globo and represents a significant step in the rollout of GO!Enterprise in western Europe."
