VIP plans aggressive growth in 2013

Distributor invests for the future as it bolsters vendor line-up and increases warehouse capacity

Peripherals and components specialist VIP Computers is aiming for significant expansion in 2013 as it celebrates a successful 2012.

The firm recently announced it was merging gaming specialist Realtime – acquired in 2006 – into the business as it concluded it was better to work the two firms together as one.

It is planning a £1.6m investment to increase its warehousing capacity in Warrington by 31,000 square feet and intends to bring more vendors on board.

Already in its stable are names such as Corsair, Creative, Dust Off, Xigmatek, Gioteck, EVGA, Sapphire, Gigabyte and Gigabyte Peripherals.

The firm is also planning to host the Evolution: The Future of Gaming and IT Technology Exhibition event again next year, it revealed.

Richard Marsden, sales director at VIP, said: "In 2012 we saw 13 per cent growth in revenue and that trend is continuing.

"Where most of the industry looks ripe for consolidation, VIP continues to invest in the future with an ongoing commitment to our customers and vendors, and the proven ability to deliver real value in distribution."
