Webroot waves goodbye to sales VP Endres

Justin Endres is thought to have left the company yesterday

Security vendor Webroot's vice president of worldwide sales and operations Justin Endres has left the company, ChannelWeb has learnt.

Endres, who confirmed that he had ceased to work at the vendor on his LinkedIn page, is thought to have left the firm yesterday, but the reasons behind his departure are as yet unclear.

Endres started work at Webroot last October, before the firm's controversial exit from the email security market.

He attempted to allay channel discontent in March this year, claiming that "email was not all that strategic" and that it "did not make sense... to compete in an almost zero-margin game". He claimed that Webroot's new portfolio based on mobile, end point and web was more "compelling".

Webroot was unavailable to comment at the time of publication, but an industry source close to proceedings – who did not want to be named – said the move came as no surprise.

The source said: "This is no surprise as Justin appeared like a bull in a china shop and the channel rebuke from Webroot's loyal European partners was well reported last year."
