No place like home for Chiltern IT staff

Distributor splashes £18,000 on unusually decorated social room for employees as part of office refurbishment

Spare parts distributor Chiltern IT has delivered an early Christmas present for its employees in the form of a new staff room, which the firm has had decorated in some unusual ways.

The Buckinghamshire-based firm invested £18,000 in the refit, which includes a feature wall covered in turf as well as a pool table and living room-style area.

The staffroom makeover was designed to give employees a completely different experience in their free time, and formed part of the overall refurbishment of the distributor's main offices in Gerrards Cross.

Chiltern IT recently appointed Justin Hulls to develop new areas of the business.

Tony Price, managing director of Chiltern IT, said the staff social space was designed with comfort in mind.

He said: "With the new social room, we wanted to create an environment that is really different to the work place. We created a warm, cosy and fun-feeling environment which almost feels like a home."

Price added that he hopes new recruits will be impressed with the new staff space.
