Phoenix joins £60m education framework

Reseller wins coveted place on Southern Universities Purchasing Consortium

Phoenix Software has joined the likes of Softcat, XMA and Insight on a pioneering software purchasing programme for UK universities that is worth up to £60m a year to suppliers.

The VAR was awarded a place on the Southern Universities Purchasing Consortium (SUPC), which provides software services to over 100 UK higher and further education institutes, supplying Microsoft, Adobe and VMware solutions.

Phoenix, which has supplied the education sector for around 20 years, claims that its experience in the market led to its selection on the lucrative university framework, which only a select few resellers are able to join.

Samantha Mudd, Phoenix's director, said: "Our breadth of experience of the needs of the educational sector combined with our extensive knowledge and relationships with the key software vendors meant we were able to put forward a compelling proposition to the SUPC.

"We are delighted that the SUPC has chosen us as one of its preferred software suppliers. We will continue to serve our further and higher education customers by providing an excellent value proposition, well-trained sales advisors, skilled consultants and maintaining our accredited relationships with the major software vendors."

The reseller claims to have a team of over 20 education specialists which focus on BYOD, desktop virtualisation and Software Asset Management, which will be deployed as part of its role on the UPC framework.
