Brent McCarty appointed Ingram UK and Ireland boss

Distributor's US consumer electronics kingpin to cross the Atlantic

Ingram Micro has revealed Brent McCarty as the new head of its UK and Ireland operations.

He arrives in the post from a US-based role as general manager of the distributor's Consumer Electronics (IMCE) unit. McCarty replaces Matt Sanderson, who recently returned to a role in Australia. He will report to Johan Vandenbussche, Ingram Micro's regional vice president for the UK, Belgium and the Netherlands.

According to his LinkedIn profile, McCarty (pictured) has been with the distribution giant for seven years, starting in a role as director of Canadian VAR sales, before moving to the IMCE post in May 2009. Prior to this he spent six years at Dell.

Ingram's EMEA president Alain Maquet said: "We are very pleased to be welcoming Brent to Europe to take the helm of our business in the UK and Ireland. Brent is an experienced IT distribution professional with a strong track record of success within Ingram Micro. Under his leadership, our UK and Ireland business will continue on its path of growth.

"I would also like to take the opportunity to thank Matt for his excellent service, strong leadership and his success in developing the UK business over the past three years and wish him well in his new role in Australia."
