New £1.6m warehouse for VIP customers in Warrington

Distributor VIP Computers cuts ribbon on additional facility in Cheshire

VIP Computers has opened a £1.6m extension to its warehouse facilities in Warrington, Cheshire.

Jattin Sahni, chairman of VIP, said the warehouse extension adds 31,000 sq ft and 3,000 pallet spaces. This now gives the distributor total warehouse capacity of 100,000 sq ft and 7,000 pallet spaces.

"This expansion of the warehouse will help our company to grow further, allowing us to tap into the growth of the IT market. VIP recently bolstered its team with 60 new employees from the north-west region and will continue to invest in its future as a major employer in the area – at a time when many tech companies are cutting costs or delaying projects," Sahni said.

The extension was completed within budget and on time by Warrington-based Williams Tarr.

VIP serves about 2,000 accounts each year, moving 9,000 items every day. The additional capacity will enable the distributor to pick and process more stock, and scale up its white-label shipping services.
