Webroot appoints new global channel chief
Current systems engineering manager to take on channel duties on top of existing role
Security vendor Webroot is looking to build up its channel with the promotion of Charles Tomeo to the role of global channel boss.
Tomeo, who has held the position of worldwide systems engineering manager since March last year, will now also take on the role of vice president for worldwide channels while maintaining his current duties.
Webroot said that Tomeo, who has been at the vendor for eight years, is one of its longest-serving employees. The vendor's chief executive Dick Williams said he thinks Tomeo's experience will provide a good basis from which to build its channel.
He said: "As one of Webroot's longest-tenured employees, he is intimately familiar with the technical and business nuances of our offering portfolio and how best to position our solutions with customers and partners, which will prove invaluable as we build our channel.
"Charles is recognised within the company as one of our strongest managers and leaders."
Last week, Webroot announced that it had inked a deal with distributor CDG in a move designed to re-invigorate its UK channel presence.
Newly appointed Tomeo said that he plans to expand the vendor's global reach through its partners.
He said: "Webroot has taken an innovative approach to build a strong channel foundation, and I look forward to working closely with our partners to further expand Webroot's global reach."
