Mimecast welcomes two channel bosses to drive growth
Vendor signs new directors in enterprise sales and strategic alliances in line with European growth plans
Mimecast has brought in two top channel directors in a move which it claims will continue to fuel its channel expansion across the UK and Europe.
Phil Atkinson joins the vendor as strategic alliance director for Europe, and Andrew Duce will take on the role of enterprise sales director for Europe.
Atkinson joins the vendor from Microsoft where he spent more than 10 years in a variety of partner and alliance roles. His new role will see him responsible for building and strengthening relationships with Mimecast's alliance partners, which currently include Microsoft and HP.
Duce, who has held roles at both HP and IBM prior to his appointment, will be responsible for working with Mimecast partners to build the firm's enterprise customer base.
Last year the vendor secured $62.15m (£39.25m) in Series C funding and claims its recent hires will contribute to its growth plans.
Alan Kenny, Mimecast's UK managing director, said the company's success depends on the channel, and claims that is reflected in the new hires.
He said: "At Mimecast, we rely on our partners for 100 per cent of our sales activities, so having a strong channel team is absolutely vital. Our success depends on our partner community and on our ability to help them add value for their customers.
"I am delighted to announce these new appointments, and am sure that both Phil and Andrew, with their combined expertise and experience in some of the world's biggest technology companies, will help us continue to deliver fantastic value for both our customers and partners and drive growth for the company across Europe."
