Administrators: 2e2 sale imminent

Interest in the UK business has been "significant" and administrators say a sale could be completed very soon

The sale of ailing reseller 2e2 could be concluded "in the very near term" according to the firm's administrators, which claim that the search for a buyer is going well.

In a statement released this morning, administrator FTI Consulting said that there has been "significant" interest in the business.

Simon Granger, Chad Griffin and Simon Kirkhope of FTI Consulting were appointed as joint administrators over certain UK companies in the 2e2 Group on Monday.

They released a statement which said: "There have been a significant number of expressions of interest in acquiring the UK and international businesses and we confident that a sale can be concluded in the very near term."

On Wednesday, it was confirmed that 319 of 2e2's 1,442 staff had been laid off.

Earlier this week, the reseller's UK businesses were placed into administration, but its international firms have not been impacted and are running as usual, according to the administrators.
