Jon Garaway (pictured, right), a former staffer at reseller XMA, will be aiming to boost education sales using his 12 years of experience in the area.
DataCore Software has hired Bjarne Poulsen as sales director for the UK, Ireland, the Nordic countries and the Middle East. Poulsen has held positions at HDS, Brocade, Nishan, Scale Computing and Storsimple.
"We already have more than 500 customers in the region and with the growing wave of virtualisation adoption, more and more customers are now looking to accelerate the performance of their Tier 1 applications and provide continuous business availability and optimal storage resource utilisation at a cost-effective price," Poulsen said in a statement.
Bob Dalton (pictured, below left), who ChannelWeb and CRN readers will know from his former role as boss of Intact IS, has taken on a role as service development director at services provider Bio, which focuses on consultancy, specialist staff assistance and management services.
An SCC tech expert with 24 years of experience - public sector director Tracy Westall - has been hired by the Greater Birmingham and Solihull Local Enterprise Partnership to help with a number of incoming IT-focused initiatives including smart-city and connectivity projects.
She is also vice chairwoman of the public sector council at trade body Intellect, where she concentrates on cloud computing and procurement issues.
Distributor VIP has added to its workforce with a new product manager, Frazer Hamilton.
UKFast has rehired Chris Andrews from BSkyB, who will now be director of service at the Manchester hosting firm. Rival Rise over in Gloucester, meanwhile, has promoted James Henigan to MD.
At Varlink, Phil Ward has taken on a newly created role of new technology presenter. In this position, Ward will be expected to visit customers and reseller prospects to demonstrate the distributor's portfolio. His background is in technical product management.
