Samsung confirms Mark Ash will head B2B print expansion
IT giant confirms former Xerox executive in team leader role for UK print
Former Xerox corporate and public-sector sales manager Mark Ash has been confirmed as head of Samsung's UK and Ireland print division, with a stated aim of further expanding the tech giant's B2B sales.
Ash, who was at Xerox from 2004-2012 and before that at distributor Midwich, took the role in December.
Graham Long, vice president for corporate sales and IT solutions at Samsung, said Ash offers the company "a wealth" of managerial experience and in-depth industry expertise.
"Our focus is to strengthen our presence in the B2B market and the print division represents a key and strategic growth area for Samsung's global IT business. Ash's appointment is integral to fulfilling our ambitious plans," he said.
Long said that Ash (pictured) will drive overall print strategy and execution, basing his actions on the revenue targets for 2013.
Ash said in a statement supplied by Samsung that his main focus will be to expand market share as well as develop "the right relationships" with customers, IT resellers and disties.
"This will see the creation of additional roles to support the new MPS offering and ensure partners are provided with dedicated industry sales support," he said. "I'm confident we are in a very strong position especially with our newly refreshed best of breed product range."
It is believed that Ash replaces Dion Smith, who held the role from 2010 but according to Samsung has now left the company.
