Huawei picks Dandelion for channel training
Chinese vendor claims latest partner programme will help VARs grow their business through certification and training
Huawei took the wraps off its Dandelion channel programme this week as it looks to help its partners grow and win new business.
Officially entitled the Dandelion Empowerment Programme, the vendor is hoping to develop a deeper understanding of the existing ICT knowledge and expertise across its channel partner ecosystem and offer customised training and development to its resellers to help them grab more opportunities.
Training will cover the Huawei Certified Network Associate (HCNA) and the Huawei Certified Network Professional (HCNP), and other specialised technical fields, as well as product training on areas such as enterprise networking, UC and collaboration, cloud computing and datacentres.
The Chinese vendor has to date recruited more than 300 tier-one partners including distributors and VARs, as well as 2,500 tier-two resale partners worldwide and it is keen to help its partners win business and grow.
In a statement sent to CRN, a vendor representative said: “By joining the programme, partners will become professionally trained and educated on the latest ICT technologies. They not only acquire knowledge, but also improved mutual communications with the other programme participants, which enables sharing of best practices and experiences.”
The vendor told CRN the Empowerment Programme will offer three main benefits to partners: ability assessment, to determine their current level of capability; course customisation, to tailor each course to the trainee’s strengths and weaknesses; and finally quality delivery, with training delivered by a senior instructor from Huawei HQ.
Huawei’s statement added: “Huawei understands that highly trained and skilled employees have the ability to serve their customers in the most efficient way and therefore has developed this training to include technical training, a hands-on practical course and Huawei product training as well as an overview on industry trends.
“Upon completion of the training, partners will have better insight into the industry as well as an improved capability to provide network solutions and technical services to customers.”
