Distie boss catches drama of Vegas shootout

Head of spare parts distributor Chiltern IT ends up taking news-making pictures of his own on his morning run

Chiltern IT boss Tony Price (pictured) was out for a morning run when he saw more than he bargained for on his return.

The distie chief was in Las Vegas for the HP Global Partner Conference which ended today.

But instead of a normal scene when he returned to his hotel, he snapped the aftermath (pictured below) of a shootout involving a black 4x4 and a Maserati on the Las Vegas Strip, which resulted in a pile-up that triggered a massive fireball.

The incident, which happened near the Bellagio and Caesar's Palace hotels, caused a crash involving four other vehicles, and sadly resulted in the death of three people, including rapper Kenny Clutch, who was driving the sports car. The driver of a taxi cab and its passenger were also killed.

Price's tweets (@Priceee) and subsequent pictures of the event made the news when his photo of two of the wrecked cars was used on TV station KTNV.

Luckily Price was not hurt in the incident, but his reputation as the channel's very own Kate Adie is born.

We at CRN are glad he was unharmed, but hope this excitement doesn't surpass the thrill of winning Specialist Distributor of the Year at the 2012 Channel Awards.

Speaking to CRN after the drama, Price said: "It is a good job I went the opposite way on my run that morning or I would quite literally have been caught up in the event."
