Long walk to peak in May for Team JMC

Salford support provider aims to mark 33rd birthday with fundraising challenge

A team of six representing Salford reseller JMC IT has embarked upon a training programme in preparation for attempting the Lake District's 33 Peaks Challenge in May to raise funds for a children's healthcare charity.

Pictured L2R in February during a seven-hour training hike around the Great Langdale Valley in the Lake District are Daniel Robinson, SupportCare technician; Paul Bowie, SupportCare engineer; and Hugh Houlston, account manager; managing director Andrew Burgess's wife, Sally Burgess; Steven Green, cabling manager; and Peter Wilson, senior technical architect.

Andrew Burgess, managing director of JMC IT, said the company has pledged to raise £8,000 in the current financial year for the charity, the locally based paediatrics-focused MedEquip4Kids.

"We're already over halfway there. To help us crack our target we have decided to do something epic, and we're celebrating 33 years of business in 2013 so that inspired us to aim high for the 33 Peaks Challenge," he said.

Team JMC will have to complete a 35-mile hike on 10-11 May that takes in 33 peaks across the Lake District. You can support their efforts via JustGiving, on the website or by texting JMCC80 and an amount to 70070.
