Dell has more in store for Micro-P

Vendor's longest-serving UK distributor adds storage alongside existing PC, server and print business

Micro-P has deepened its relationship with Dell to include the vendor's high-end storage technologies.

The Accrington-based firm became Dell's first UK distribution partner four and a half years ago when it was appointed to carry the vendor's imaging products. It also stocks Dell PCs and servers and has now taken on the entirety of its storage line-up, including EqualLogic and Compellent products.

The products are squarely aimed at the enterprise market and Micro-P claims the deal will allow resellers to configure and implement complex storage offerings at speed. The new addition joins storage incumbents Hammer and Avnet (formerly Magirus).

Gavin O'Shea, networking and solutions general manager at Micro-P, said his firm's success configuring Dell servers had made it the right choice to be added to the storage stable.

"Having been awarded the VAD storage contract puts Micro-P in a unique position in the UK, in being able to deliver a server, storage, networking and client solution from under one roof," he said.

Bill O'Shea, UK commercial channel director at Dell, added: "This contract is recognition of the fantastic investment and work Micro-P has put into the Dell enterprise business."
