Microsoft grabs MetricsHub in cloud push
Vendor acquires cloud monitoring and automation specialist for an undisclosed sum
Microsoft has acquired cloud monitoring and automation specialist MetricsHub for an undisclosed sum.
In a blog post, Bob Kelly, corporate vice president of strategy and business development at Microsoft, revealed the firm would make the technology freely available to all Windows Azure customers.
“As an innovator in Active Cloud Monitoring, a technology that automates cloud performance management, MetricsHub helps customers more efficiently manage their cloud services at a lower cost,” he said.
The technology ensures customers are paying only for what they need and are maximising the services they are using, Kelly added.
In a similar blog, an anonymous MetricHub Engineering post said: “To all of our customers: thank you for your support and continued use of our product. It has been our pleasure processing hundreds of billions of data points and taking thousands of automatic actions to help you manage the health and costs of your cloud applications.
“As for the future – we will have more to share on that – in the future!” it said.
