VAR Liberata wins £1m social housing contract

Firm will provide server and storage solutions, disaster recovery and LAN products to Selwood Housing Society

Reseller Liberata IT Solutions has won a £1m contract to supply a housing charity with a range of IT services and disaster recovery products.

The London-based firm, which provides IT and business outsourcing services to the public sector, will begin work with Wiltshire-based Selwood Housing Society (SHS), which is a not-for-profit organisation which manages nearly 6,000 social housing properties.

The deal, which is worth just over £1.03m including VAT, was the most economic tender of three proposals submitted.

The reseller will supply server and storage products to SHS as well as voice infrastructure to support its business users and call centres, LAN equipment and thin or zero-client desktops among others.

In the contract award notice, published this week, SHS said the solutions should offer "a resilient, scaleable and cost-effective ICT service, including both computer and voice telephony functionality which is responsive to the business needs of Selwood Housing".
