Allied Telesis is hungry like the Wolf
Vendor nabs new EMEA sales head from rival Cisco as it aims for rapid market share land grab
Networking vendor Allied Telesis has poached a senior general manager from arch rival Cisco to spearhead its EMEA expansion.
The Japanese firm, which is determined to ruffle the feathers of competitors such as Cisco and Huawei with its disruptive challenge in the IP/Ethernet networking solutions market, confirmed Carlo Wolf (pictured) would take over its EMEA vice president of sales role with immediate effect.
Previously Wolf was general manager of Cisco Germany and Alpine regions.
His task at Allied Telesis will be to accelerate activity and sales to grow the vendor’s market share in the region.
Jane Brett, UK and Ireland sales director at Allied Telesis, said the move was significant.
"Whoop whoop – yes I am smiling as it’s a great coup," she said. "It will no longer be 'Allied who?' This is an exciting phase for our customers and partners. The train is leaving the station – get on it!”
Brett added that the question partners should be asking is "are the well-known brand names providing the market with the best and most effective solution?"
