Avnet sales boss Denise Bryant to leave distributor in April

Former Magirus honcho resigns just seven months after firm was acquired by Avnet

Denise Bryant has resigned from her role as sales director at Avnet Technology Solutions, the distributor has confirmed.

Bryant headed up Magirus' UK business since 2005 until it was acquired by Avnet last summer, after which she was made one of four UK sales directors under the new management structure.

She is set to leave the distributor in April, and channel sources close to Avnet added that the move forms part of a wave of cultural changes at the newly merged firm.

In her role as sales director, she was responsible for the distributor's Cisco, EMC, HDS and NetApp business.

At the end of last year, the 50 ex-Magirus staff were integrated into Avnet's Bracknell home, ahead of the brand's final integration with its new owner at the end of January.

Last December, Sukh Rayat, Avnet's regional leader for the UK and Ireland, opened up about the post-acquisition management rejig, revealing the distributor was focusing on a smaller number of reseller relationships which be believed could be mutually beneficial.

In a statement to CRN, Rayat said Bryant was leaving to pursue a new challenge but did not reveal who was lined up to replace her.

"Denise has played a pivotal role in the integration of Magirus, supporting the transition of employees, business partners and vendors to further strengthen the position of Avnet in the UK," he added.

"Denise now feels that a new challenge awaits her. It has been a pleasure having her on the team and on behalf of Avnet I would like to thank Denise for the commitment she has shown the UK business over the past six months.

"I wish her all the best in the future."
