Computacenter bags £76m NFU Mutual contract

UK's biggest VAR wins infrastructure overhaul and managed services deal

Computacenter has secured a £76m, five-year infrastructure overhaul and managed services deal with insurance giant NFU Mutual.

Over the next four months the Hatfield-based VAR will be rolling out operating systems, storage, servers, software, virtualised desktops and managed print services. Thereafter Computacenter will provide second- and third-line support from its group service desk and will monitor performance around the clock at its operational command centre. Data will also be hosted at the reseller's shared datacentres in Manchester and Romford.

Neil Muller, UK managing director at Computacenter, commented: "We are delighted to be working with NFU Mutual on such a critical transformational project. By building long-term partnerships, we can develop a full understanding of our customers' business and IT goals in order to better align our services and deliver customer value."

Stratford-upon-Avon-headquartered NFU Mutual manages £13.5bn-worth of funds across almost one million policy holders. It employs 6,500 people across the UK.

The firm's chief information officer Tim Mann said: "This partnership is a key element of our future plans, providing a modern and flexible infrastructure that will underpin our continued ability to offer first-class customer services, support and value for money to our members."
