CCS Media welcomes employee-turned-MP back to fold

Chesterfield MP returns to his roots at CCS Media as firm ramps up apprenticeships in 30th year

Shadow small business minister Toby Perkins returned to CCS Media as part of his campaign to promote sales as a career to young people.

Perkins was a former CCS Media employee, working as an account manager during the 1990s before he started his political career.

He is working with educational institutions and businesses to encourage more young people to consider sales as a career and was keen to find out more about the apprenticeship schemes operated by CCS.

During an informal lunch with CCS' sales apprentices (pictured), Perkins said: "If you are good at sales, you have a job for life with so many transferable skills. Sales is the engine room of the UK economy."

Terry Betts, managing director of CCS Media, said: "It is good having a member of Parliament once from our industry and actively promoting sales as a career. Our largest restriction to future growth is the availability of well-trained sales professionals.

"We have just had another record first quarter with a 15 per cent increase in sales over last year. We would not be able to maintain this success without bringing in newly trained sales staff."
