LDD Group boosts schools play with Compubyte buyout
Leeds VAR acquires fellow West Yorkshire channel player
Ambitious reseller LDD Group has deepened its reach into the education sector with the acquisition of fellow West Yorkshire VAR Compubyte Systems.
Leeds-based LDD, which has a turnover in excess of £10m, claims the deal has been agreed for "a six-figure sum". Based in Bradford, Compubyte focuses on the supply and maintenance of IT kit for primary schools in West Yorkshire and Lancashire.
LDD's new addition has been in operation for 14 years after being founded by husband-and-wife double act Bill and Elaine Young. Under the stewardship of LDD group sales director Mandi Iles, Compubyte will be melded into its new owner, with all incumbent staff to be kept on.
"Compubyte is an established company with a fantastic customer service reputation," said Iles. "The company's expertise in the education sector will enhance our service delivery to schools and colleges and support us in achieving growth in that sector."
