Hammer nails on Quanta and Promise partnerships

Storage distributor boosts kitbag with servers and high-performance RAID wares

Storage distributor Hammer has added a brace of new vendor partners in the shape of Quanta and Promise Technology.

Quanta has signed the Basingstoke-based distie to distribute server, storage and switching wares on a white-label basis. The Chinese ODM giant has a heritage of building bespoke server offerings for blue-chip cloud and web firms including Facebook, and Hammer will be allowed to build tailored products for its clients across Europe.

Mike Yang, general manager of Quanta QCT, said: "Hammer provides tailored solutions across many verticals, with an extensive onsite services and support network. These capabilities are important to Quanta's cloud datacentre customers, who demand that our high-performance and ruthlessly efficient hardware be delivered with a complete set of consulting and support services before, during and after the sale."

Hammer is also adding high-performance RAID storage kit from Promise to its linecard. The pan-European partnership will see the VAD take stock of the vendor's datacentre and media-targeted VTrak Series products, as well as Vess range for video surveillance environments.

Gerard Marlow, general manager for business development at Hammer, said: "We look forward to working closely with Promise to deliver their products to our reseller base, and to engage with them in achieving a mutually productive and beneficial partnership. Their focus on redefining storage possibilities reflects Hammer's ethos of addressing ever-changing business needs unfulfilled by traditional storage offerings, and we look forward to continuing our strong focus on supplying specific products to vertical markets with this partnership."
