Dell unveils enterprise configurator tool

Vendor also offering $5m discount fund to encourage more sales

Dell has launched a new configurator tool which it claims will help its partners grow revenue.

Initially launched in the UK and Germany today, with the Netherlands and France set to join later this month, the Online Solutions Configurator will help partners create multi-part enterprise solutions in an easier, more collaborative way.

The tool works when ordering one or more of the following Dell products: Dell PowerEdge, Dell Compellent, Dell EqualLogic, Dell PowerVault, Dell PowerConnect and Dell Force10.

To make it easier for partners, the tool is also integrated with deal registration to help close deals even more quickly. It has dedicated sales support for the full range of Dell Enterprise Solutions including storage, servers, networking and converged infrastructure offerings.

According to Dell, it enables partners to collaborate with a Dell enterprise solutions specialist to create a complete quote for customers, as well as pricing deals with their colleagues.

In addition, Dell has announced a special discount fund of $5m (£3.3m) to coincide with the launch of the tool.

The discount is available to Dell Registered, Preferred and Premier partners to recognise their commitment and investment in Dell. The individual discount amount is based on each partners’ spend in the past five years on Dell enterprise solutions. It will be applied using an additional discount of five per cent on all enterprise orders placed between now and 30 June.

Laurent Binetti, general manager of EMEA channel sales at Dell, said: “The Online Solutions Configurator enables our partners to price deals quickly and easily, transforming the competitive tender process and helping partners grow their business with Dell.

“The tool has been developed following direct partner feedback and provides an efficient, collaborative sales tool to make it easier to configure Dell’s Enterprise Solutions. This adds to our current suite of resources and the discount fund is a further way for us to recognise and reward those partners who have invested in the programme.”
