Software One tempts new recruits with travel incentive
Reseller aims to grow its workforce by giving new faces the chance to travel the world
Software One is hoping to sign up a wave of new recruits with the launch of an incentive programme that will see them travel the world.
The Microsoft LAR is offering prospective new faces the chance to work in any of its 62 offices around the globe for three-month periods over the course of a year, with the chance to stay on after the placement ends. Australia and the US are key countries the newbies may want to sample, according to the reseller.
The first wave of the recruitment drive, which is being spearheaded by specialist recruiter Merlin Corp, will see up to 10 new starters join the firm initially.
Employees will be given the chance to continue working in any country of their choosing providing they have proved themselves over their time there, but can also return to join the firm's 110-strong team in the UK.
Zak Virdi, Software One's managing director, claimed there is nothing like the scheme in the industry.
He said: "Given the current marketplace in the UK, people [want] to travel, and this is a great way to experience the world. It is interesting for people who want to experience the culture and business environment of other countries, and it fits in with our ethos to develop staff skills."
Virdi added that the firm is on the lookout for staff with between six months' and two years' worth of industry experience so they already have a sound foundation on which to build.
Paul Davis, specialist software asset management (SAM) recruitment firm Merlin Corp's managing director, said: "A lot of the time [recruitment] is about money, but sometimes it is more than that and it is about adding value. Some companies have spent too long doing what they are doing.
"The sort of people Software One is looking for are those who want to travel the world but not dent their CV. It is a really creative opportunity."
