Firm signs deal to overhaul Department for Transport's telephone system in first central government department win

Azzurri has nabbed its second £1m contract this month after the Department for Transport (DFT) awarded it a five-year telephony deal.

The firm will plan, manage and install a variety of services for DFT as well as providing user training, a resident engineer and a security audit across its two sites in London and Hastings.

Azzurri's offering will also provide DFT with unified communications licences, messaging, voiceconferencing, call recording and call logging.

Earlier this month, Azzurri bagged another £1m deal with Cintas Document Management to supply it with WAN and managed security services.

Vim Vithaldas said the DFT win is significant as it is the first the firm has won through the Public Services Network (PSN).

He said: "We are delighted to win this contract through the PSN Services framework as it is our first notable success in supplying services and technology to central government.

"Azzurri already has a very strong record in local government, having delivered major ICT contracts to organisations such as Cornwall, Wiltshire and Durham councils, but the PSN framework has helped open up a new route to central government departments."
