JMC peaks sooner than expected in MedEquip4Kids event

Reseller fundraising hike doubles funds in quick time

JMC IT's team has completed its 33 Peaks Challenge, exceeding their fundraising target of £8,000 to raise some £15,000 for MedEquip4Kids in total.

According to a statement, the team of volunteers from the Salford reseller hiked across the Lake District in windy conditions, including through the night, to reach their goal in 21.5 hours, rather than the permitted 24.

Peter Wilson, senior technical architect at JMC and a participant in the walk, said the conditions were tougher than imagined, with hail and flooding to contend with along the way.

"[And] we had a fantastic support crew of colleagues, family and friends, who were there for the entire weekend with food, caffeine, storm shelters and a change of clothes. We are thrilled to have smashed our £8,000 target," Wilson said.

JMC is working with the charity to help decide the best use of the funds raised.

Andrew Burgess, managing director of JMC, said: "We are so grateful to all our supporters, and especially our principal sponsors Ruia Group, MKR, Beechfield Brands, CDL, UK Healthcare and Metronet UK, which all made extremely generous donations."
