Exclusive: YOYOtech gives up the ghost
CRN understands PC builder has placed itself into voluntary liquidation
Long-established PC builder and gaming firm YOYOTech has gone into company voluntary liquidation, CRN has learned.
The firm, whose main retail premises was based in Windmill Street, off Tottenham Court Road in central London, has been in business since 2002, specialising in custom-built PCs and overclocking.
On its website, it lists Asus, AMD, Corsair, Microsoft and Western Digital as some of its main suppliers.
It is understood that the liquidation is being handled by insolvency specialist Baker Tilly, although CRN was still awaiting an official comment as this article was published.
On YOYOTech’s official Facebook site, one poster had uploaded an ‘official’ status update on behalf of the company: “I would just like to confirm that this company has gone under (sic) liquidation and all stock has been removed to a warehouse in Essex.
“The liquidator agents are ITC Valuers. Anyone who has left their property with YOYOTech should get in contact with these agents to arrange to have their belongings delivered to them.”
Another poster reported that a sign on the firm’s door also confirmed it had gone into company voluntary liquidation.
CRN spoke to ITC valuers and it is understood the stock has not yet been moved to the Essex warehouse.
Despite CRN contacting YOYOtech’s main switchboard number several times, it remained constantly engaged.
One industry player, who asked to remain anonymous, said: "It's a shame that they've gone but not entirely surprising. YOYOtech had a good reputation for selling high-end / gaming products, but never really managed to break out to the next level and reach their full potential."
