Softcat on prowl for fresh blood
Reseller aiming to up its headcount to more than 600 by the end of the year
Reseller Softcat is hoping its staff headcount will surpass the 600 mark this year as it looks to sign up an army of new sales and technical staff over the summer.
Last July, Softcat welcomed in 44 new recruits as part of its graduate scheme, but the firm claims this year's drive is looking for a much larger number of newbies.
So far this year, the reseller has brought in about 150 new sales starters, and it aims to recruit nearly that figure again in the next four to five months. The VAR also hopes to sign up 12 new technical recruits over the period, taking its total figure past 600.
Dave Simpson, the reseller's commercial director, said the incoming recruits are being drafted in line with the company's growth, and that a new office could also be on the cards in the future.
He added that Softcat's newly refurbished Marlow office still has capacity for new staff, while its Manchester and London branches have also recently been doubled in size to cope with the growth.
