Integralis name to vanish from view
Japanese parent NTT Com rebrands security VAR
The Integralis brand is being retired by Japanese telco NTT Com four years after it acquired a majority stake in the pan-European security integrator.
The Prime Standard-listed outfit will be known as NTT Com Security, reflecting the ever-increasing level of co-operation between the two firms, under plans announced by NTT Com today.
NTT Com grabbed a majority stake in Integralis – which is the largest pure-play security integrator in the UK market with revenue of €90m (£77m) here last year – for €75m in mid-2009.
Upon being named as Integralis CEO last September, Simon Church spoke of his desire to deepen ties with its majority owner. A month later, Integralis sold its managed security services intellectual property to NTT Com for €23.8m.
NTT Com said the rebranding reflects its continuing commitment to Integralis and intention to continue expanding its security capabilities for global customers. It will not result in any ownership changes and – with the exception of setting up NTT Com Security in Japan – there are no management or other operational changes planned.
Church (pictured) said: "For us, the name change makes good business sense as the two companies become more closely aligned. We now have the opportunity to become the industry's next information security and risk management powerhouse, especially with recent industry acquisitions."
The retirement of the Integralis brand follows that of stern rival Vistorm, which was subsumed into HP in 2011 three years after the hardware giant inherited it via its acquisition of EDS.
For its fiscal 2012, Germany-based Integralis posted a small profit of €1.9m on revenue of €204.9m.
NTT Com also today lifted the veil on WideAngle, a single global brand for its information security and risk management portfolio of managed and professional services, consulting and technology products.
Akira Arima, chief executive of NTT Com, said: "Integralis has become an integral part of NTT Com as our dedicated security arm over the past four years. As it becomes part of the NTT Com brand, it means we can continue to invest in information security skills, expertise and services, through the WideAngle brand, and also integrate into our Global Cloud Vision to provide secure global cloud services on a seamless, end-to-end basis."
