Daisy Group goes loco with MoCo acquisition

Mobile distributor MoCo Communications will be integrated into telecoms player's distribution arm

Daisy Group has hit the acquisition trail again by snapping up mobile distribution specialist MoCo Communications for an undisclosed sum.

MoCo primarily works in partnership with O2, and the firm will be integrated into Daisy's mobile distribution business Daisy Distribution. Existing Daisy Distribution managing director Dave McGinn will head up the combined group.

Based in Rochester, MoCo trades through a network of channel partners and also offers a range of fixed-line and data products to partners and end-user customers.

MoCo is Daisy Group's third acquisition in the mobile distribution space, after it swallowed Anglia Telecom Centres in 2009 and Fone Logistics in 2010.

McGinn said in a statement: "This acquisition shares obvious synergies with Daisy Distribution and provides the opportunity for us to drive further success and growth following our previous purchases. MoCo has an excellent reputation for delivering high-value, high-quality business and we feel this complements our current business model.

“It is our intention to grow the MoCo base and allow it to benefit from the systems and infrastructure investment that underpins Daisy Distribution’s partner engagement.”
