ACS bags £1.3m Essex Council deal
VAR's Business Solutions arm to supply storage, printing and disaster recovery services to authority in two-year deal
Advanced Computer Software's (ACS) Business Solutions arm has been awarded a £1.3m managed services contract by Essex County Council.
The Surrey-based software firm and reseller will supply the authority with a range of computer services including disaster recovery, printing, software support and data storage as part of the deal, on top of financial transaction tools.
The contract is expected to run for two years minimum, with the possibility of a one-year extension, according to a recently published contract award note.
ACS won the award based mainly on price, which accounted for 60 per cent of the decision weighting, with quality the other deciding factor.
The new deal will see ACS provide the council with technology to support its financial system which provides financial services to third parties across the county including care homes Essex Cares, Slough Libraries and the Essex Pension Fund.
At the end of last year, ACS claimed it wants to double in size by 2016 – aiming to take its headcount beyond the 2,000 mark. Its Business Solutions division is the largest of three, alongside its Advanced 365 and Health and Care businesses.
