Westcoast and Lexmark get closer with new hardware deal

Longstanding consumables distie Westcoast set to stock vendor's printer range

Lexmark has expanded its distribution partnership with Westcoast in an effort to enhance its UK channel reach.

Previously, the distie had access only to the printer firm's Genuine Supplies consumables business - ink cartridges and toner supplies - but will now have access to its hardware range too.

The new deal will see Westcoast able to supply Lexmark's printer range as well as its Smart Multi-Function Printer (MFP) which offers printing, scanning and copying capabilities as well as usage tracking and network functionality.

The agreement sees Westcoast join existing Lexmark hardware distributors Micro-P, Midwich and Ingram Micro.

Danny Molhoek, Lexmark's UK and Ireland general manager, said the firm is gunning for aggressive growth in the UK with the help of the channel.

"We already have an outstanding relationship with Westcoast, and the new agreement will enable us to extend our channel reach, explore new market opportunities and drive incremental revenue," he said.

"Our Smart MFP devices fit perfectly with Westcoast's approach to solutions, and customers will benefit by having greater choice, support and service. We continue to aggressively pursue growth in the UK, and we look forward to continuing our work with Westcoast to achieve and exceed our objectives."

Westcoast's sales and marketing boss Alex Tatham (pictured) said he was excited to stock Lexmark's hardware range.

"Hardware remains a key market, and this new deal means Westcoast can now offer customers a more complete range of products and services to meet their business needs," he said.

"Lexmark products are rated highly by customers, and the partnership deal demonstrates our commitment to providing end users with all the tools they need to drive their business forward, regardless of what industry they are in."
