Check Point UK boss Terry Greer-King to depart

Former 2e2 man heads for pastures new after three years in the country hot seat

Check Point UK managing director Terry Greer-King is to depart the security vendor at the end of this month, CRN has learned.

Greer-King (pictured) leaves after three years in the UK hot seat. Prior to his appointment in summer 2010, he spent four years at Netstore, either side of its October 2008 buyout by 2e2. Check Point confirmed that the UK boss will depart on 31 July and wished him well for the future, but declined to provide further comment.

Greer-King's departure marks the second UK exec to leave this month, following news that channel sales director Zoe Clark was off to join Websense.

The Israeli vendor recently published second-quarter results which showed revenue up four per cent annually to $340.2m (£221.6m), with GAAP operating income rising two per cent to $183.3m.

Ian Kilpatrick, chairman of Check Point distribution partner Wick Hill, said: "I have enjoyed working with Terry and wish him all the best. From our perspective, we have had a couple of big quarters with Check Point, and we are expecting that to continue."
