Services firms land on £60m shared services SAP framework
Serco, CSC and Capita among those awarded a place on Surrey and East Sussex managed service framework
A handful of services firms have been awarded a place on a lucrative framework to maintain Surrey County Council's SAP architecture.
The recently awarded framework was split into two lots: the first a managed services deal for the day-to-day running of the infrastructure, and the second focused on future technical development.
Capgemini is set to be the sole supplier on the first lot after beating off competition from three other firms.
Capita, CSC, Serco, BlueFin, Cognizant Technology Solutions, Infosys, ROS, Lemongrass Consulting and Wipro all won a place on the second lot of the framework, the total value of which is set to exceed £60m.
Over the coming 18 months, the council is looking to work with neighbouring authority East Sussex County Council (ESCC) to combine their similar SAP infrastructures as part of ongoing cost-saving measures.
Andrew Clarke, sourcing specialist at Surrey County Council said the framework was jointly procured with ESCC to initially align with its neighbour's datacentre, ahead of an eventual technology merger within the next two years.
