Micro-P takes on combined Signagelive-Samsung display offering
Digital signage service through non-PC playback should prove popular, says disti
Micro-P has sealed a deal to distribute the digital signage as a service offering from UK company Signagelive via Samsung smart signage displays.
Jason Cremins, founder and chief executive officer of Signagelive (pictured, below right), said the Samsung hardware coupled with this SaaS offering provides audiovisual and IT resellers with plug-and-play digital signage incorporating live online support.
"We have worked closely with Samsung to deliver a simple, cost-effective and scalable offering that eliminates the complexity, making it easy for resellers to sell and support," Cremins said in a statement.
According to Micro-P, "expensive and unreliable PCs" are increasingly being replaced with a single chip inside the display when it comes to digital signage. Other types of playback device are becoming more popular in the digital signage industry, it said, and Signagelive is "a pioneer" of cost-effective, non-PC-reliant digital signage.
Ian Aitken, general manager for the visual business unit at Micro-P, said the distributor's sales of signage screens and public display products doubled over the last year.
"Micro-P is now the leading UK distributor of such products from Samsung, NEC and LG. Now seems like a great time to increase our portfolio of 'attach' products that accompany and bring the most out of these products," Aitken claimed. "Signagelive unlocks affordable messaging solutions across a range of industries and applications."
