Reseller Vohkus plays with Violin

VAR hopes new partnership will enable customers to overcome storage latency problems

Reseller Vohkus has signed a partnership with storage vendor Violin Memory in an effort to help its clients overcome latency issues.

The Southampton-headquartered VAR, which already works closely with storage giants EMC and NetApp, hopes Violin's "storage-at-the-speed-of-memory" technology will be particularly relevant to its mid-market clients – those with between 500 and 5,000 users.

The duo claim the partnership will see end users able to eliminate bottlenecks typically associated with traditional storage systems, which will maximise their ROI.

Vohkus commercial and marketing director Loay Lawrence said his firm is always on the hunt for new technology to bring to its customers and that Violin's offering complements its existing technology well.

Violin's managing director of EMEA and LATAM said working with Vohkus will help further expand its market reach.

"This partnership comes at a time of great increase in the demand for memory-based storage due to the inability of many organisations to economically overcome the challenges related to... latency issues associated with disk-based storage," he said.
