Adept4 celebrates growth spurt

Scottish services player grows staff numbers and pursues more contracts in the lucrative oil and gas sector

Aggressive VAR adept4 has more than doubled its staff over the past 12 months as it looks to grow its presence in the oil and gas sector.

The Daresbury Park-based business is expecting to grow its turnover from £3.5m in 2012 to an estimated £6m in 2013. It now has a team of 50 people, and has opened a new office in Aberdeen in the past year, as well as celebrating a number of new business wins and acquired K10 Solutions in May for a six-figure sum.

Adept4 is also still on the recruitment path for people to fill technical positions at all levels within the company.

Its recent contract wins include a three-year contract to provide full service IT solutions and managed IT services to Aberdeen and Edinburgh-based HR firm Hunter Adams, and a managed IT support and services contract with specialist oil and gas sector accountancy firm FW Accounting.

Peter Birkett, chief executive of adept4, said: “We have had a fantastic 12 months and are continuing to witness significant expansion. This has been driven by a combination of organic and acquisition-led growth and we’re delighted to be bolstering our presence in the North West, and also expanding out into Scotland.

“The development of our Aberdeen office and the contracts we have won in Scotland signify our growing presence in the oil and gas sector. This is a very exciting area with huge potential for growth and expansion. It’s also a sector where high quality end-to-end expertise and customer service are valued, so we are taking hold and making the most of the opportunities available in this rapidly developing area."

He added: “Our extensive training and development programme ensures adept4 consultants, technicians and service delivery teams are equipped with the latest skills and that is a very attractive proposition to potential employees, who recognise the value of such intensive, quality training. We have been very pleasantly surprised by the quality of applicants that we are attracting and we are looking forward to continuing to welcome the brightest and best on board.”
