Awards Stack up for young Liverpool engineers
Third-year students win Stack Data Solutions prize
Aintree reseller Stack Data Solutions has awarded two Liverpool university students a £1,250 prize for personal development, Oluyemi Jegede and Adeayo Sotayo.
Pictured are Jegede (left) and Sotayo, third-year mechanical engineering students at the University of Liverpool, with their certificates for their 2013 Stack Awards for Personal Development.
According to Stack, the winners were chosen by tutors and project supervisors as those showing the most improvement academically throughout the year as well as for their contributions to the life of the school, including extra-curricular activities, and communicating and working well with other students and staff.
Jeff Orr, chief executive officer of Stack Data Solutions, said the students were a credit to their school. "They are two very deserving young men," he said.
Jegede said that he believed personal development was a hall mark of a good all-round education.
"Therefore it is a joy that my efforts to develop myself outside the very rigid academic curriculum are being rewarded. I do hope this inspires others," he said.
Sotayo said awards were a great way to recognise achievements.
"This encapsulates the sort of qualities employers are looking for, and I believe it will be a great asset on my CV. Winning this is a great honour," he added.
