Telindus seeks six of the best for apprenticeship scheme
Government-backed National Apprenticeship Service backs VAR in quest for young talent to join engineering and operations teams
VAR Telindus is to run its second apprenticeship scheme this year and is seeking six young recruits to learn their trade at the firm.
The Camberley-based company ran its first such scheme in conjunction with the government-funded National Apprenticeship Service last year. This year Telindus is seeking four new heads to join its engineering team, under the tutelage of engineering manager Ross Pickett, as well as two new starters to work under Jenny O'Donoghue, head of service operations.
Potential candidates will be assessed and interviewed next month, before the chosen sextet start work in October. The programme is open to 16-to-24-year olds and Telindus claims they will complete the apprenticeship with the necessary skills to take a full-time job at the firm or begin their career in earnest elsewhere.
Jo McCabe, human resources manager at Telindus, said: "It's fantastic to be able to create these opportunities for the younger generation, and after such a successful run last year, we are delighted to be working with the National Apprenticeship Service again."
